Observer Notes:Revised on 2/28 after a site visit. Fatality occured after a highmarking snowmobiler triggered a medium sized soft slab avalanche. The depth of the crown ranged from one to two feet. The slide was approximatley 600 feet across and 600 feet long. The slab failed on buried surface hoar that sat upon a hard sun crust. The rider was fully buried to an estimated depth of four to five feet and uncovered within 20 minutes. He did not survive.
